Detailed Itinerary For 12 Days Mount Kilimanjaro & Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Int. Airport for your climb

You arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, excited for the adventure ahead. After clearing customs, you’re greeted by your guide who will accompany you throughout the journey. A short drive takes you to your accommodation, where you settle in and relax after your travels.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Huts

The day begins early as you head to Marangu Gate, the starting point of your trek. Here, you meet your trekking team and receive a briefing before setting off. The trail leads through lush forests filled with diverse flora and fauna. You listen to the sounds of birds chirping and monkeys chattering as you make your way to Mandara Huts, your first overnight stop. The huts provide basic but comfortable accommodation, and you enjoy a hearty meal before resting for the night.

Day 3: Mandara Huts to Horombo Huts

Day 5: Horombo Huts to Kibo Huts

With the summit in sight, you continue your ascent from Horombo Huts to Kibo Huts. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as you climb higher, with only hardy shrubs and rocky outcrops dotting the terrain. Despite the physical exertion, you’re filled with anticipation and determination to reach the summit. Arriving at Kibo Huts, you rest and mentally prepare for the final push.

Day 6: Kibo Huts to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Huts

Today is the big day, summit day. You wake up long before dawn and begin the challenging climb to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. The temperature tends to start  freezing, but the sight of the sunrise is stunning and motivates you to keep going. Finally, after hours of hard work toiling through the giant rocks, you reach the summit. Day 7: Horombo Huts to Marangu Gate – Hotel

Day 8: Flight to Kigali from Kilimanjaro (JRO)
