2 Days Kilimanjaro Hiking: Climb on the slopes of the highest mountain in Africa to the first base camp of the Marangu Route. With its 5895 meters, Kilimanjaro is an impressive sight, which most visitors already spot in awe and amazement when flying in at Kilimanjaro airport. The rainforest zone of Kilimanjaro is thick and lush and home to many different bird and monkey species, such as blue monkeys or colobus.
Make sure to keep your ears wide open to hear some of the Kilimanjaro residents.
Day 0: Arrive in Tanzania
You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to the Kilimanjaro White house hotel bed and Breakfast in Moshi town; you will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming trek and do an equipment check to make sure you have all the necessary mountain gear. The missing gear can be rented on this day.
Day 1: Kilimanjaro National Park Gate to Mandara Hut

- Time: 4-5 hours

Hut: Mandara Hut
You will be picked up from Arusha early in the morning to Moshi then depart for Marangu Gate. The drive will take approximately 1 hour. After completing gate registration, you will begin your Kilimanjaro Day Hike. Walking along a narrow trail through the rainforest of Kilimanjaro up to Mandara Hut you will meet mountain climbers descending from the top. At Mandara Hut you will have your lunch and the possibility to take a short walk to the Maundi Crater. Dinner and Overnight at Mandara hut.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

- Distance: 11 km
- Time: 6-8 hours
- Climatic Zone: Heathland/ Moorland
- Meals: B, L,
You leave the glades of the rainforest and follow an ascending path on the open moorlands to the Horombo encampment. Views of Mawenzi and Kibo are amazing. Look for giant lobelias and groundsels before descending down to the Marangu Gate. Our vehicles will be waiting at Marangu
Gate to take you back to Moshi to the hotel.
Day of departure: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport.
