3 Days Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro Via Marangu Route via the Marangu Route is a brief safari package that includes a short hike along the Marangu Route to explore the mountain’s lower ecosystems, rather than a summit ascent. The plan encompasses a hike through rainforests to Mandara Hut on the first day, followed by a trek to Horombo Hut across moorlands on the second day, and a descent back to Marangu Gate on the third day. This expedition provides picturesque vistas, opportunities for wildlife observation, and an introduction to the mountainous ecosystem.

Essential items to bring are hiking boots, a rain jacket, layered clothes, snacks, personal belongings, sunscreen, insect repellent, a headlamp, and a daypack containing a water bottle, among others.

Comprehensive Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Marangu Gate and climb to Mandara Hut

You will be collected from your location and subsequently transported to Marungu Gate at an elevation of 1,860 meters to register for the ascent. You will trek through the verdant rainforest to Mandara Hut at an elevation of 2,700 meters. Anticipating the exploration of fauna, including Colobus monkeys, and distinctive vegetation. Additionally, explore Maundi Crater for expansive vistas. Evening meal and accommodation for the night.

Meal Plan: Half Board

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Upon enjoying a delectable breakfast, exit the rainforest and ascend to the open moorland. The route provides classic vistas of the Kibo and Mawenzi summits. As you ascend, you will observe colossal lobelias and groundsels. Overnight accommodation at Horombo Hut at an elevation of 3,720 meters.

Day 3: From Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Commence your day by descending from Horombo Hut. You will traverse the moorland and enter the rainforest. Advance to the Marangu Gate. Subsequently, return to Arusha or Moshi. Upon arrival, you will be deposited at your hotel or at any suitable location.

End of the trip.
